Steer FC Launches Community Outreach Programme
CommunityWednesday, April 22, 2026
Steer FC begins its community programme in Katy, offering free coaching sessions to young players in the local area.
Steer FC has launched a community outreach initiative aimed at developing youth football in the Katy area. The programme, which began this month, provides free coaching sessions to young players aged 7–16 every Saturday morning at a local pitch in Katy.
The sessions are led by members of the first team squad and coaching staff, who volunteer their time each week to give back to the community that has supported the club since its founding in 2024.
Defensive midfielder Kweku Amoako, one of the regular volunteers, said: "These kids are incredible. The energy they bring every session is infectious. Football gave a lot of us an opportunity growing up — if we can do the same for kids here in Katy, that means everything."
The programme has already attracted over 30 participants in its first two weeks, with interest continuing to grow. Parents interested in enrolling their children can contact the club at info@steerfc.com for session times and details.
Steer FC is committed to growing the game in Houston, and this initiative is just the beginning. The club plans to expand the programme later in 2026, with additional age groups and coaching pathways to be announced in the coming months.
